BackiGo User Manual

BackiGo helps you back up photos, videos, Live Photos, and selected iCloud data to storage that you control. The main app flow is built around Home, Transfer, Schedule Backup, History, and Restore Backup.

Before You Start

  • Allow Photos access when BackiGo asks.
  • Configure at least one backup destination before starting the first backup.
  • On iPhone and iPad, keep the app in the foreground for long-running jobs when possible.

Add Backup Destination

    Open Home.

  2. 2

    Tap the Connection Status card.

  3. 3

    In Select Backup Destination, open Add Backup Destination.

  4. 4

    Choose the destination type you want to add, such as local or external storage, network storage, or cloud backup.

  5. 5

    Grant folder access or enter the required server or account details, then save.

  6. 6

    After the destination appears in the list, keep it selected as the default destination or switch destinations from the same screen later.

Note: you usually add a destination only once. BackiGo remembers it and shows whether it is available from the Connection Status card.

Start A Backup

    Open Home.

  2. 2

    Tap Start Backup.

  3. 3

    Pick a destination if BackiGo asks.

  4. 4

    Select the photos, videos, or albums you want to protect.

  5. 5

    Choose the backup mode:

    • Incremental Backup: only new or changed items.
    • Full Backup: rewrites every selected item.

    Watch the progress from the top status banner and from History.

Restore Photos Or iCloud Archives

  1. 1

    Open Home.

  2. 2

    Tap Restore Backup.

  3. 3

    Choose one of these paths:

    • Restore Photos: photos, videos, and Live Photos.
    • Restore iCloud Archives: Contacts and iCloud Drive documents.

    Select the backup, snapshot, or archive you want.

  5. 5

    Pick the items to restore or export.

  6. 6

    Choose the destination and finish the restore.

Transfer Between Devices

  • Transfer > Web Access: starts a local URL, QR code, and optional PIN for browser access on the same network.
  • Transfer > Send: sends photos directly to Mac or Windows.
  • Transfer > Devices: helps connect nearby BackiGo devices.
  • Transfer > Receive: shows incoming files and where they are saved.

Schedule Backup

  1. 1

    Open Settings > Schedule Backup.

  2. 2

    Choose daily or weekly.

  3. 3

    Set the photo scope, selected albums, destination, and charging or network conditions.

  4. 4

    Optionally include:

    • iCloud Contacts
    • iCloud Drive Documents

    For iCloud Drive archives, version retention can be enabled.

Note: on iPhone and iPad, scheduled work is most reliable while the device is charging and the app remains available in the foreground.

History, Retry, And Trial Limits

  • Use the clock button on Home to open History.
  • Failed items include a reason so you can reconnect storage and retry only unfinished items.
  • Skipped items are usually duplicates or items blocked by the trial limit.
  • The free trial includes up to 500 photos and videos.
  • BackiGo Pro unlocks unlimited backups, Live Photos backup and restore, and iCloud Photos direct backup.

Troubleshooting

  • Destination unavailable: reconnect the drive or network share, then refresh the target list.
  • Mac or Windows not found: keep BackiGo or BackiGo Transfer open on both devices and stay on the same local network.
  • Web Access not opening: keep the phone awake, use the URL or QR shown in BackiGo, and verify both devices are on the same network.
  • Need more help: open Help & Support in the app and send feedback.
